  • Glasses or contact lenses
  • For driving license inspections (NL): the inspection form from the CBR
  • If applicable: citizen service number
  • (home) address
  • Legal tender (Debit card/cash)
  • NIF number

What to bring with you on your follow-up visit:

  • Appointment card
  • Current list of medications
  • Glasses or contact lenses
  • Legal tender (Debit card/cash)

The visit

When you come for the first time, please report to the clinic reception on the first floor. You will be welcomed and your file will be prepared. You will be picked up by the ophthalmologist’s assistant.

A comprehensive eye examination will be performed. This includes measuring visual acuity, measuring the strength, measuring eye pressure, assessing the cornea, lens and retina. Any follow-up appointments will be made in consultation.

You should always take into account that you may be given drops during the eye examination, which may temporarily reduce your vision. You may also experience more discomfort from light. We advise you not to come by car yourself. The reduced vision can last for two to six hours.

Follow-up research

If the physician assistant or ophthalmologist sees reason for it, a follow-up examination and/or treatment will take place. These appointments will take place at the same location, unless otherwise stated. Please take into account the possibility that you may be given drops again!

In traffic after a visit

Your physician assistant or ophthalmologist will advise you not to drive yourself after your visit. Eye drops and other treatments lead to reduced vision. If you come by public transport or taxi, please bring someone who can accompany you. We also recommend that you bring sunglasses.
